It was the Summer of 1983

Mr. BBQ was born to a proud Father, Norman Wilkins.  Norman began his dream in his first mobile unit selling his hot & spicy BBQ.  Local residents flocked to his "Restaurant on Wheels."  This new concept fast became some of Texas' best BBQ, just ask Charles Duncan and Bryon Harris.  (CH. 8 WFAA - 1986)

Norman focused his energies full time in Mr. BBQ and opened a full service restaurant in Wylie, TX.  After a successful run in Wylie, Norman closed shop to get "Back on the Road" and chose Lewisville to establis the "BBQ Bus Drive-thru" @ Denton Creek "Bottoms" and SH 121.  Happy Texans bought BBQ from Norman until freeway construction forced Norman to close.  From 1995 until November 4, Norman carefully planned the resurrection of "The BBQ Bus"!

Deciding that selling BBQ Sandwiches was the first step, Norman re-introduced "Mr. BBQ" to the world from a corner convenience store, "Stop N' Save", in Dallas with a hand from a few friends, Jeff Schnick of "Schnick's" in Wheatfield, IN, Musa Ibrihim, Stop N' Save 2005, and Robert Mendez, RAE Enterprises.  Mr. BBQ Express Deli-Catering was a success.  Customers of Mr. BBQ Express came in on a regular basis for Norman's great Texas BBQ.

With the purchase of the store's first new owner's, Mr. BBQ came to a halt.  As the store once again is transformed, Norman is poised to re-emerge on the Dallas BBQ Scene with his groundbreaking innovative BBQ concept offering the Best Chopped BBQ Sandwiches, Sliced Brisket, Turkey Legs, Smoked Sausage, Ribs, Louisiana Style Dishes, and Homemade Sidedishes that money can buy "On Wheels"!  All Norman & Mr. BBQ Express need now is a couple of Sharp Investors with a hunger for success & a dream to grow big as Texas.
